Birth Certificates

A birth certificate is required mainly for registration purposes, Identity Cards (I.D) and passport application. The certificate should be acquired within 6 months if it is a hospital delivery and non-hospital deliveries are allowed a late registration after the 6 month period.

• The application of a birth certificate is done at Bishop Garden Towers.
• Several forms are to be completed at their offices
• The forms are sent to the Civil registry at City Hall and once processed are sent to back to Bishop Garden Towers for collection.
• This process takes 3 working days

Cost/ Fees
The cost of a birth certificate ranges between KShs 50 – 150/- (depending on the number of names, addition of names and removal of names)

NB: Transit Clients and Foreigners can get their birth Certificates directly from the civil registry located at City Hall 3rd floor, room 324 at a fixed cost of KShs 250/-
