FINAL EXTENSION ON WAIVER OF INTEREST ON LAND RATES

Notice is hereby given to all the property owners in Nairobi and in particular all rate payers in default that the Council with the approval of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government has extended the waiver of interest on land rates with effect to 15 December, 2009 with the following conditions:

1. That the Rate payer pays in full the total principal rates outstanding, plus administrative fees of 2.5% of the total rates outstanding.

2. Those rate payers, who have court cases may benefit from the waiver subject to paying all Legal costs to the Council’s legal department.

NOTE that the Council may exercise powers under Section 17 of the rating Act Cap 267 to recover the amount in default.

The Cash Office is open from:

Monday to Friday: 8.00 a.m —5.00 p.m

Saturday : 8.00 a.m —2.00 p.m

For those making payments of above Kshs. 1 Million, you are adviced to make Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) TO:
